About Us

Almost 10 years ago 3 moms decided to compete in their first obstacle course race. Why? They wanted to give back to a local charity. As the years carried on Team YOLO grew. There are now over 250 volunteers who have competed in some of the most arduous of races.  NEVER in their wildest dreams could these 3 moms have predicted what an impact that decision would make!

Through racing, The YOLO Strong Foundation raises money for terminally ill, medically fragile and special needs children. We believe that children undergoing chemotherapy should have the right  to attend preschools without compromising their susceptible immune system! We believe that children who are medically fragile should receive the appropriate funds for essential medical devices! We believe that underprivileged non communicative Autistic children should have access to iPads with special software to assist them in communicating!

Team YOLO is made up of mothers, sisters, aunts, godmothers and friends. We are professionals, teachers, nurses, accountants, executives and housewives. We are dedicated, passionate, determined, ambitious, caring, influential & humble women. We may have started as a team of 3 but are now a tribe of over 250 powerful women!

Team YOLO competes in all different types of races to raise awareness and funds for local children. We push ourselves mentally & physically. Run through freezing water, climb cargo nets & walls. We carry sandbags, crawl through the muddiest trenches, & jump through fire (all with a smile). Through private donations & with help from sponsors, we raise awareness & funds to assist local children & their families.

"Team YOLO" has built partnerships and has strong corporate sponsors such as Lifetime Fitness, Synergy, Lululemon, Sterling Bank & Apple Bank. Through the years Team YOLO has caught the attention of some notable people. We were invited to take part in the studio audience of The Ellen Show in Burbank, CA as well as The Dr. Oz Show in New York, NY. Team YOLO was also highlighted during a press conference by Joe Girardi (former NY Yankees Manager)!

The YOLO Strong Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3). ALL YOLO members volunteer their time and there are no salaried positions. We believe our power is in our hearts & in our numbers. The YOLO Strong Foundation is just getting started!
